The Story so far...
25 years ago, Donbac opened as one of the first Enterprise Agencies in the region and quickly became widely acknowledged as a key deliverer of business advice. With support from British Rail Engineering Ltd., a Loan Fund to help local businesses was added, creating a benchmark Agency, which others followed.
Some say that one constant in life is "CHANGE". What better testimony to this than Donbac, constantly adapting to the ever changing business support environment over the last 25 years? During this time, Donbac has seen highs and lows of the regional economy affecting our business community and many business support organisations come and go. This continues today with high street bank lending policies, the closure of organisations including Regional Development Agencies,Business Link and the creation of Local Enterprise Partnerships.
Constantly adapting to these changes, Donbac has, for 25 years played a vital enterprise role in the region, supporting client businesses and partner organisations, investing in other funding organisations such as South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF), making grant awards for enterprise in education projects and funding enterprise research.

The Donbac passion and mission "here to help all local businesses" emerged again in 2008 to create a reinvigorated Donbac, increasing funding activities.
Donbac is now a well respected, successful, Enterprise Agency and as a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI), is a key provider of advice and microfinance in the area, helping new start and existing businesses.
