Most Wanted UK
After going live with our business idea in November 2007, we were sure with our experience in our chosen market that we had done everything right. We launched 'doncaster most wanted magazine' in the DN4 area and the aim from the off was to target most of the houses within the postcode, delivering to over 23 000 homes every month.
A few months in we quickly became aware of a major situation that was out of our control and potentially detrimental to our business, in its infancy as it was. The distribution had gone wrong and seemingly to our clients we had failed to deliver on our promise. We were devastated and as we investigated we found more areas that had not received our magazine -we had to think fast.
We became members of the Doncaster Chamber and went to see a representative to ask for advice! We got legal help and after discussing a rescue plan, we realised we needed to raise finance to carry it through. Having started the business on our dad's credit card we already knew too well, loans and overdrafts were not an option via the traditional route and were worried about how to keep our dream alive.
This is when we heard about Donbac, a fnancial company that specialises in helping small and new businesses such as ours, raise fnance by looking at the business and its potential on its own merit. This gave us hope and we did all the necessary plans and paperwork required of the application process.
The loan came back approved and we were ecstatic, this meant we could carry out our rescue plan we started again, visiting all of the people who had trusted us to reassure them we were onto it! To this day most of them are still clients and some are friends! Doncaster most wanted is now Most Wanted UK Ltd and we are about to take our magazines from 66,000 to which it has grown today, to 93,000 across the rest of Doncaster from August 2009.
