Gavin Watson is a very busy man, and it's all thanks to Donbac. "The loan helped me smooth over a rough patch," he explains. "I needed the time to get some projects going." He obviously used the opportunity well, because now his film and TV business has a mind-boggling array of work on its books. "We're filming 24 new health and fitness workout DVDs," Gavin says. "Then I'll be off for five weeks, filming for a TV series. I'm co-producing a feature film with a fairly well-known actor and launching two TV channels."
Gavin pauses for breath. Although he was formerly a quantity surveyor he was always interested in visual media. "I had friends who were actors," he says. "One day, one of them wanted to make a DVD, so I turned cameraman." The result was Silverwood Media Ltd, which has a wide remit to produce film and TV images. Although he is now extremely busy, Gavin is very happy. "It really is fantastic to be able to do something you love for a living," he says with a smile. "It doesn't get much better than that."
