The Original Lash & Nail Bar

At 24, Rebecca Taylor is the youngest ever tenant in Doncaster's prestigious Frenchgate Centre. She has always aimed high, having previously been a makeup and beauty technician looking after glamour models on magazine photo shoots. With the help of a Donbac start-up loan, she opened The Original Lash & Nail Bar in March 2010. The salon has proved an instant success. "The first month showed the kind of turnover that many places get in a year," says Rebecca.

Buoyed by her initial success, expansion plans are already afoot. "We are taking over the unit next door," Rebecca explains. "It will be linked through to this area, but will be a hair salon." The decorative scheme will be complimentary to the simple white, black and shocking pink regime employed in the Lash and Nail Bar, as Rebecca has very firm ideas of how her business should look. She is also unashamedly ambitious. "I love expensive shoes and handbags," she says simply. "Something has to pay for them."
